BOLTON COLLEGE IS NUMBER 1

Only five months after being rated ‘good’ by Ofsted, BoltonCollege is celebrating again. This time, it’s been named the number oneCollege in Greater Manchester forDZachievement ratesof young people aged 16-18.

The Department for Education’sannual achievement rate tables for 2015-2016show thatBolton Collegetoppedthetableforthe 10 general Further Education and Tertiary Colleges within Greater Manchester.

Across its 16-18 provision,Ƶachieved an overall pass rate of 91.5%. Rates for adultswereequally impressive too, with nearly 94% of learners passing their course.

The College’s Apprenticeship programme was also another strongarea; the College wasfirst for Children and Young People’s Workforce and first for Intermediate Hairdressing, whilst its Intermediate Construction programme was placed second.

The College delivers over 50 Apprenticeship programmes across 20 industry areas and has a long history of success. Ƶ apprentices havebeen commendedat the Bolton and Bury Business Awards, the National Apprenticeship Awards and alsosector specific ceremonies, such as the Property & Construction Awards. The Association of Colleges has also recognised the College’s outstanding programme, with one apprenticebeingHighly Commended ata celebratory event at the Houses of Parliament.

It’s been a great year for BoltonCollegeand I’m sure next year will be even better.
