Students hand out shoeboxes to the needy

Three generous ÁñÁ«ÊÓƵ students have embraced the spirit of giving, and travelled to Manchester to help feed and hand out shoeboxes to the city’s homeless.Ìý

Business Studies students Joslin Mohammed,ÌýSadiyaÌýAzim andÌýRugileÌýLadauskaiteÌýaccompanied their tutor Ravinder Singh to Piccadilly Gardens to help the SikhÌýSewaÌýOrganisation (SSO), who run initiatives that help the homeless and less fortunate.Ìý

After serving up soup and food, the three students handed out 28 shoeboxes to the needy around the city centre. These included winter necessities like hats and gloves, as well as hand gel and chocolates, all donated by generous College students and staff, who also raised nearly £200 for the charity.Ìý

Ravinder Singh, who teaches Business at College and volunteers for the SSO every Sunday, said ‘I’m really proud of Joslin,ÌýSadiyaÌýandÌýRugile, who have each given something back to the community. They and the students in College have demonstrated a real compassion for those less fortunate than themselves, and all shoeboxes were gratefully received’.Ìý

We offer a range of Business & Professional Services courses for both school leavers and adults.Ìý
